Lots of pics today, let’s get started.
I went to Akihabara and brought a camera this time 🙂
Pasmo. Get one of these or a Suica card if traveling in Tokyo. Don’t bother with buying tickets at every station.
If you see this building when you come out of Akiba station, you’ve gone the wrong way 🙂
This is the right side 🙂
Around all the small shops when you first come out, this is possibly the most interesting. But we’re going to skip it and go straight to Yodobashi Camera, so we turn left.
Under the bridge and up to this awesome building. Turn left again.
Yeah, towards that building!
The front of the building. Yodobashi camera in Akiba can not be described with words. The closest I can come is imagine a Walmart combined with a Best Buy and a Guitar Center and a Barnes and Noble and a Food court that is like 10 stories tall.
A fully functional baby baby grand piano. I’ll call it a fetus grand.
I never knew Voltron was updated. But apparently, it was 🙂
Tons of toys.
Here, you really can catch ’em all. Pokemon…
Dragon Quest toys?
If you thought our kids were in trouble with tattoo Barbie, kids stripper poles, and vibrating tattoo pens; The Japanese kids are being dressed up like this at an early age 🙂
One Piece figures!
I wasn’t kidding about the Girls section for games.
Proprietary connectors? No problem, you can get a multi-charger for your DS+PSP+Phone+Kindle+etc all charging from your USB port.
I haven’t seen this many styluses (stylii?) on display since the Pocket PC was popular.
Ever wanted to be a female J-pop star? Now you can on your DS!
Awesome Final Fantasy models.
Complete classic Star Wars scenes.
Cases of highly details models from pretty much every movie, cartoon, and comic ever made.
A full Book Store on the 8th floor.
That electronic toilet you’ve always wanted? There are the features. Only $750!
Massage chairs on display. This is how you save money. Use the display model massage chairs in electronics stores instead of paying for a real massage 🙂 (15 minutes on one of these will refresh you for another 2 hours, I tested)
I don’t know what Megapoid is. Some sort of Virtual Idol? I’ll have to look it up.
I’m always on the lookout for tiny, portable things to compliment my portable recording studio.
This keyboard wins. (If you can shell out the $150 for it)
USB powered… things. Like the Hello Kitty USB, uh vibrator? The strip underneath says おもしろUSBゲッズコーナー. That’s interesting/funny/weird gaze corner. Right? Right.
(correction: グッズ goods, not ゲッズ meh, it was early/late, sorry 🙂 thanks to K-dog for the fix)
More USB stuff. One to note is the really cool aroma diffuser thing which you plug into your USB slot and it spews out a stream of nice smelling steam like a humidifier (and it’s the size of a normal USB stick).
Honestly, I spent the majority of the day at Yodabashi Camera. It’s that cool. I really did use those massage chairs after a few hours 😉 Unfortunately, they close at 10pm 🙁 So I had to go home.
Me pretending to be using my G1 for SMS, secretly taking a picture of a guy pretending to read a book (which is secretly a hentai manga). This is art. (you can also get a rare glimpse of me wearing glasses in the window reflection). 🙂
My dinner at midnight at ガスと。
My after dinner studying. Hey, on the computer, not the girls.
じゃ お疲れ様でした。 I’m really tired. I’m off to dreamland. See you tomorrow!
