Site Updates to Make Your Experience Better

by Jason Surguine on September 29, 2009

I made some minor site changes over the past month, just thought I’d jot it down in case you hadn’t noticed.

There is now a shiny, blue RSS button to click on on the right side. (so you can get updated immediately in your favorite reader like feedburner or google reader).

I’ve added links so you can hook up with me on Facebook, twitter, and linked-in to my fancy new footer (very bottom of the page).

Added a cool button so you can get new blog posts directly to your mail so you dont have to keep checking the site for updates (don’t worry, it’s not some spammy newletter, it’s a google feature, and you can stop it at any time with one click in your mail).

Added a Lijit search box, which gives more relevant search results.

Updated the Featured and Popular lists (one the side bar) accordingly. If there is anything you think that should be there and isn’t, let me know.

Tried to pare down the Categories to something a bit more manageable for browsing now.

Inserted a widget displaying my latest tweets from Twitter, just in case you want to see my random thoughts on there and join in on the fun. I finally ‘get’ twitter now, I’ll have to make a post explaining how+why soon.

I added breadcrumbs and paginated numbers to help a bunch with site navigation.

And finally, I’ve also added Facebook Connect so that any of my wonderful friends on Facebook can easily login to comment here (instead of on Facebook, where no one else can see it) by simply using their Facebook profile. If you’re one of my Facebook readers, please test it out and let me know how it works for you.
